The Dance Corner presented their annual Pohutukawa Coast Dance Showcase 2015 last weekend.  It was a fun and encouraging weekend where over 130 dancers performed in front of an audience of over 400 members of the community, family and friends over two days.

It was a magical weekend with Princesses, Hip Hop stars, Highland dancers and Ballerinas.  The community was buzzing with excitement and achievement, the dancers worked so hard to perfect their reunions.   “ I was so proud of how much effort the community and children put into the showcase this year! The show was the best it has ever been and it was amazing to see the courage and confidence of all the performers.   I would like to thank all of the students, their families and the community for their involvement in creating such a wonderful weekend.”

Thanks to Auckland City Councils creative communities grant The Dance Corner was able to create an environment that enhanced the amazing talent in our community.  With a large stage, lighting, and a fantastic venue the dancers had a fantastic time showing off their talents.

It was such a great success and it was awesome to see the children/dancers having an amazing time and experience.

We would like to thank Lisa Marie Photography for the fantastic photos and Turn it up DJ's for lighting and sound! was an amazing show

On  the 14th and 15thof June The Dance Corner hosted the Pohutukawa Coast Dance Showcase 2014. This event was a fun and encouraging day, where over 130 students from The Dance Corner and other performers of our community performed dances on stage in front of an audience of over 400 family and friends.

There is some amazing talent in our community.   We were very lucky to have Kate Deans Highland dancers, Aimz fitness aerobics team and a few other cultural dancers from Hungry Hopes perform at the Pohutukawa Coast Dance Showcase this year.  It was great to see our community together to enjoy and celebrate the talent of our locals.

It was such a fantastic weekend and I (Korrin Laker) was very proud of all of the wonderful dancers that had the courage to perform their dances on stage.  I would like to thank all of the students, their families, the community and businesses that helped sponsor the event for their involvement on the day!! It was such a success and it was great to see the children/dancers having such an amazing time and experience.

This event was a fun and encouraging day, where over 100 students performed dances on stage in front of an audience of over 340 members of the community. Thanks to Auckland City Councils creative communities scheme we were able to hire a large stage to ensure the dancers had enough space to dance and we were able to make the show a free community event so that everyone could get involved and watch the amazing talent of the children in Beachlands and Maraetai area.

It was such a fantastic day and I (Korrin Salisbury) was very proud of all of the wonderful dancers that had the courage to perform their dances on stage.  I would like to thank all of the students, their families and the community for their amazing involvement on the day!! We would also like to say thank you to TePuru community centre for providing us with an amazing venue and to Turn it up DJ’s for providing us with awesome lighting and sound.
